Emily O'Quinn Simmons

Emily O’Quinn Simmons, age 99, of Bluffton passed away on May 17, 2018 at the home of her only daughter, Patricia ‘Pat’ Simmons and her husband, Allyn Perdue. Emily was born on August 13, 1918 in Pritchardville, SC to the late George W. O’Quinn and Catherine A. Proveaux O’Quinn. She was employed for Burdines Department Store 33 years in Miami, FL. She retired as Manager of the Credit and Cash Office. As a faithful member of the St. Luke's United Methodist Church she greeted everyone with a smile and a hug. A founding member of the Sunshine Ladies Club; a former member of the Bluffton Garden Club; she was throwing a shrimp net at 90 years and enjoyed cooking, taking food to her family and friends. In addition to her daughter and son in law, Emily is survived by her grandchildren, Douglas Snadecki (Nancy), Eric Snadecki, Jill Snadecki and Karen Robbins (Blake) and her great grandchildren, Haley, Andrew, Sara, Gregory (Maggie), Bradley (Brianna), Molly, Emily and Cooper. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Harold M. Simmons, her sisters, Anne and Coye and brothers, Luther, Charlie, Aaron and Levi. Please join Emily’s family from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Rd., Bluffton to begin the celebration of her life which will continue at 2:00 pm, Friday, May 25, 2018 at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 3080 Okatie Highway Okatie, SC with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
