Mr. Eric W. Anderson of Holland, OH died on May 16, 2015, at the age of 66 as a result of complications from prostate cancer. He passed away peacefully at his vacation home in Bluffton, SC surrounded by family members.
Eric was born on May 10, 1949, in Wooster, OH to Carl Arthur Norman Anderson (deceased) and Helen Irene Anderson, who resides in Tucson, AZ. He is also survived by his sons Jody and Eric James; former spouse Elizabeth Carl (Stuart); brother Rex (Carol); and nephews Eric William (Jamie) and Dustin (Amber).
Eric's family moved from Wooster to North Canton where he graduated from Hoover High School in 1967. He went on to Miami University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in finance in May of 1971 and continued to achieve a Masters of Business Administration in Accounting in December of 1972. While at Miami, he qualified for the freshman golf team, won the campus basketball free-throw shooting tournament, and the campus pocket billiard championship entitling him to compete in the NCAA games championships in Kansas City, MO in September 1972.
Eric began his career with Professional Management - Toledo, Inc. on Wednesday February 13, 1974, and became a partner on October 1, 1975. His position consisted of managing medical and dental practices and the handling of all accounting and tax matters. On August 1, 1989, Eric and Tom Idczak formed Anderson, Idczak and Associates, Inc., which evolved into Anderson, Idczak and Konesky, Inc. with the addition of Patrick Konesky in 2000. He officially retired on April 30, 2015, after not missing a day of work for 43 years.
Eric's affinity for golf began when his father introduced him to the game at the age of 7. As a junior golfer, he won numerous tournaments and awards. He loved, played, and mentored the game his entire life and experienced the ultimate thrill when he shot a hole-in-one on August 29, 1986, at the 12th hole of Toledo Country Club.
Eric made friends everywhere he went, from the golf course to the softball field to the Texas Hold'em table, and was able to spend his final days in the beautiful home he built in Hilton Head/Bluffton, SC.
Memorial Services will be held at Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Rd., Toledo, OH, 43614 on Friday June 5th (6-8PM) and Saturday June 6th (1-4PM). In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
