Ernest "Ernie" Hudson

Ernest “Ernie” Lloyd Hudson of Bluffton, SC went unexpectedly to be with his Lord and Saviour on October 23, 2018 at the age of 77.

Ernie was born in Charleston, WV to the late Ernest C. and Opal Hudson. He was a veteran of the United States Navy where he served for four years aboard the USS Canberra as a Boatswains Mate. He retired as a mechanic from Blanchard Machinery in Hardeeville, SC. Ernie enjoyed talking about the Lord, playing golf, turkey hunting and eating at the Cracker Barrel. Although we will miss him greatly, we take comfort in knowing he’s with the Lord and look forward to the day when we will see him again.

Mr. Hudson was preceded in death by his sisters, Charlotte Faye and Betty Lore; as well as his brother, Arnold. He is survived by his wife, Andria; sisters, Anna Morris, Marsha Riffe, Joyce Pauley and Nancy Clark; brothers, Frank and Jim; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Road, Bluffton, SC 29910.

A Homegoing service will take place at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at Bible Baptist Church, 2800 Main Street, Hilton Head Island, SC 29926 with burial following at 2:00 p.m. at Beaufort National Cemetery, Beaufort, SC.
