Estella C. Jeffers

Estella C. Jeffers, 87, of Hardeeville, SC, widow of Julian Emerald Jeffers, Jr., passed away Friday, January 26, 2018 at Life Care of Hilton Head, Hilton Head Island, SC.

Mrs. Jeffers was born September 12, 1930 in Savannah, GA to the late Richard Blake Crosby, Sr. and Marion Pinckney Crosby. She was a retired store manager for Gate Petroleum Company of Jacksonville, FL and later retired from Jeffers Construction Co. of Hardeeville, SC. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church of Hardeeville, SC. Mrs. Jeffers was an avid NASCAR fan, whose favorite driver was Bill Elliot. She also enjoyed canning vegetables and made the best fig preserves. Her secret recipe included using strawberry Jell-O to make strawberry preserves.

Mrs. Jeffers is survived by her son, Julian Emerald Jeffers (Kathy) of Hardeeville, SC; brother, Richard B. Crosby (Joyce) of Hardeeville, SC; sister, Hazel Raymond (Johnny) of Hardeeville, SC; grandchildren, Morgan Jeffers, Joshua Jeffers, Sara Jeffers, Jennifer Mazzocchi (Joe), and Neil Allen Cooler; and great-grandchildren, Emma, Joey, Julian, Connor, Amanda, and Jacob. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Amanda Ann Cooler.

Funeral mass will be celebrated at Noon on Monday, February 5, 2018 at St. Andrew's Chapel, Bluffton with burial to follow at St. Luke's United Methodist Church Cemetery, Okatie. The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 am until the hour of the service at St. Andrew's. Please feel free to visit with the family on Sunday from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Estelle's home.
