Ethel Hendry Skudder

Ethel Hendry Skudder, 79, passed away at her residence in Bluffton, SC. Ethel, sometimes known as Sissy, was born on September 3, 1940 to the late Dorothy and Alexander Hendry in New York. She was widowed by David B. Skudder in 2010, who she was married to for 49 years. She earned her undergraduate degree from Hofstra University and her master’s degree from George Mason University. She worked as a schoolteacher for 31 years in Fauquier County in Virginia. She loved to read books, play card games, travel, and socialize with her friends and family. Ethel is survived by her two children, David Skudder and Deborah Albert, her brother Alexander Hendry, and her six grandchildren, William Skudder, Mary Margaret Skudder, Hannah Albert, Emily Albert, Madeline Skudder and Sophie Albert, and one great grandchild, Luke Skudder. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Hume, VA, so that she can be buried next to her husband, David.
