Etta S. VarnadoeGrays, SCEtta Smith Varnadoe, 94, widow of C. Heyward Varnadoe, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 6, 2011. Born in Grays, SC, September 25, 1917, Mrs. Varnadoe was the daughter of the late Mack D. and Sarah Ginn Smith. She lived many years in Hardeeville, SC where she was a member of Hardeeville Baptist Church. After retiring as Business Manager from Maurene Plantation, she moved to Columbia to live near her children and was a member of White Rock Baptist Church.Mrs. Varnadoe is survived by her daughters and sons in law, Jeanelle (Harry) Clayton of Columbia, SC; Barbara (Wallace) Hubbard of Chapin, SC; son and daughter in law, Ralph (Marcia) Varnadoe of Irmo, SC. She was the loving Grandmother of Kim Jones, Tony Hubbard, Julianne Desrochers, Pam Savage, Kelli Driver, Laurie Caldwell and Chris Varnadoe. She is also survived by sixteen great Grandchildren, Ben, Thad, Brett and Seth Jones, Anthony, Daniel and Megan Hubbard, Renee and Steven Desrochers, Victoria, Bryanna and Jarrett Varnadoe, Allie and Savannah Savage, Barbie Yeo, Connor Caldwell and six great-great Grandchildren.
