Eugene P. Mcdermott

Eugene P. McDermott, age 82, of Bluffton, SC died Friday, July 13, 2018 at Preston Health Care – Hilton Head, SC. Mr. McDermott was born on September 13, 1935 in Wilkes-Barre, PA, the son of the late Durbin and Anna McDermott. He moved to New Brunswick as a child where he lived for many years until retiring to Bluffton in 2000. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving honorably during the Korean War. He worked with the Pepsi Cola Corporation, retiring after many years of service. He was a member of the Hilton Head Seventh Day Adventist Church. He enjoyed making ceramics and fishing. Mr. McDermott is survived by his loving wife, Margaret “Peggy” McDermott; son, David E. McDermott (Nancy) of Alexandria, VA; daughter, Joy Ann O’Connell (George) of Glenwood, MD; brother, Durbin Donald McDermott (Madeline) of Pt. Pleasant, NJ; sisters, Lois Adams of Michigan and Edwhina Jenkins (Walter) of Winter Haven, FL; and grandchildren, Jessica and Jamie O’Connell.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am, Sunday, August 26, 2018 at the Hilton Head Seventh Day Adventist Church, 8 Park Lane, Hilton Head Island, SC 29928.
