Eva Elaine Seaman Lynn, 88, of Bluffton, died Thursday, June 2, 2016, at her niece’s home on Johns Island, SC.

Born December 1, 1927 and raised on Wadmawlaw Island, SC, she was the daughter of the late John Walker and Mamie Crosby Cumbee.

Eva was survived by her sister, Lizzie C. Suggs of Johns Island, SC and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands Eddie Seaman and Fred Lynn. Also preceded in death by two sisters, Pearl Cloteal Stutts, Marie Couch, and four brothers, Ford M. Cumbee, John Edward Cumbee, James Richard Cumbee, and Connie Melvin Cumbee.

Eva Lynn will be remembered as a person with love for people, and always wanting to help others. She loved working in her church and providing food for others. She gave endless hours and money to the First Baptist Church of Bluffton, where she was a member for over 50 years, and provided dinners for “Happy Faces” for over 30 years. Her greatest gift was baking pound cakes. She was known as the “Queen of Pound Cakes.” Everyone also loved her biscuits. She worked endlessly in organizing yard sales to build the new sanctuary for the church. She later moved her church membership to Red Dam Baptist Church of Hardeeville, SC.

She was retired from the US Postal Service in Bluffton. Her hobbies included volunteering at Calhoun Station for over 25 years and going to yard sales.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 AM, Monday, June 6, 2016 at Sauls Funeral Home 90 Simmonsville Rd, Bluffton, SC. The family will accept friends from 11:30 AM until the hour of the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Intrepid Hospice, 2694 Lake Park Drive First Floor, North Charleston, SC 29406.

Sauls Funeral Home of Bluffton is assisting the family with arrangements.
