Evelyn B. Hohenstein

Evelyn Hohenstein, 95, passed away on April 15, 2015 at her home in Sun City in Bluffton, SC. She was born in Riverside, NJ and lived in Delanco, NJ for the majority of her life. Evelyn was a star athlete at Riverside High School. She married her high school sweetheart whom she met at Holiday Lake and they spent 59 wonderful years together. Evelyn and her husband had 2 children. She worked for over 20 years at Willis Volkswagon in Burlington, NJ. Evelyn enjoyed traveling and visited 48 of the 50 states with her husband on a cross country trip and later in life with her daughter. She loved nature, in particular red birds and the deer who visited in her backyard. Evelyn liked dancing, reading, playing games, spending time at the beach, and helicopter rides. Most of all, Evelyn loved spending time with her family. Evelyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Elwood C. Hohenstein; cherished son, Elwood G. Hohenstein; dear sister, Florence Scheer; and much-loved granddaughter, Wendy Sun (Dave). Evelyn leaves behind a large family who will treasure her memory: daughter, Stacie Finer; 6 grandchildren: Kim Rosenthal (Lee), Derek Finer, Mitchell Finer (Dodi), Karri Hohenstein, Jason Hohenstein (Mandi), and Kristi Elliott (Aaron); 7 great-grandchildren: Samantha, Jessica, Leah, Chase, Ethan, Eva, and Ana; and niece, Evelyn.
