Fallon J. Williams

June 19, 1937 — March 1, 2023

Fallon Joseph Williams was born on June 19, 1937. He died March 1, 2023. He devoted most of his lifetime to the service of others. It began as a teenager in Chicago, where he discovered his talent to inspire his peers to engage in a common enterprise, especially service to others. It was an early signal of leadership, a capacity that would define his persona.

Fallon was especially proud of his military service.  In his assignment as a military postal clerk, he brought his skills from related civilian occupation to being the trusted intermediary between service members and their families. That position of trust,   confidence, and responsibility was the forerunner to him becoming a Managing Partner for New York Life Insurance Company.

In 2003, he rewarded himself, by taking as his bride Veronica Juanita Williams. For the next 20 years they engaged in a romance that included his passion for sailing, international travel, and as they crisscrossed America in their motorhomes, they chose the Low Country as home.

Fallon’s work status was retired, but he could not disengage his energy, and because of his sense of community involvement, he became an ardent supporter of many local philanthropic organizations.

Under his initiative and leadership, two groups were formed to promote fellowship and camaraderie. The group of golfers call themselves The Low Country Duffers. They, and others, meet monthly as The First Friday Group, where men, regardless of academic, professional, or work experience, gather to celebrate their more meaningful affinity and common background. While his absence among them will be noted, his leadership will continue to remind and inspire survivors to continue fellowship and service to others.

Fallon’s passing will create different loving memories for his wife, Veronica, sisters: Elaine Williams Straughn, Carolyn Williams Pate. Sons: Brian Joseph Williams, Marc Dallon, and David Dallon. Grandchildren: Ryan Williams, Kristyn Williams, Kyle Dallon. Uncle Fallon will be missed by many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held in The Church of the Cross, at 11 am, on Saturday, April 22, 2023. The Church of the Cross is located at the end of Calhoun Street, Bluffton, South Carolina.

In lieu of flowers, Fallon would urge your support to the Heroes of the Low Country, heroesofthelowcountry.com, heroesoflc@gmail.com.
