Faye McKenzie, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt passed away on January 26, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on February 7, 1934, in Brunswick, Georgia, Faye was the daughter of William and Irma Perryman. She led a vibrant life filled with love, laughter, and creativity.
A dedicated and hardworking woman, Faye owned several restaurants over the years, where she poured her heart into both her cooking and her relationships with her customers and staff. Her love for cooking was rivaled only by her passion for spending time with her large, loving family. Faye’s joy was found in nurturing the lives of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, always ready with a warm meal, a kind word, and a gentle hand.
Beyond the kitchen, Faye had a deep love for painting, and her creativity was evident in the many works she produced, each brushstroke telling a story of her rich and full life.
Faye was preceded in death by her late husband, Jesse McKenzie; her son, Donny McKenzie; and her brother, Gene Perryman. She leaves behind her son, Danny McKenzie (Phyllis); daughter, Angela Hadwin; sisters, Patricia Adams and Shirley Pilgrim (Tom); as well as a legacy of love that includes grandchildren Dana, Melissa, Donna, Jason, Jonathan, Ashley, Brittney, and Hunter. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
Faye’s warmth, generosity, and unyielding love will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her spirit lives on in the countless lives she touched, and her memory will forever be cherished by her family and friends.
A private service will be held to honor her life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice in her memory.
