Flossie Mae Bush Smalls, daughter of the late Lucille and Freddie Bush was born on May 9, 1935 in Beaufort County. She departed this life on Monday, January 15, 2018. Flossie attended Beaufort County Schools in Beaufort County. At an early age she accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior and became a member of St. Luke Baptist Church of Ridgeland, SC. In 1955 Flossie moved to New York City and continued to serve God at Central Baptist Church located in Manhattan, New York. She was a loving and devoted Mother. Flossie was employed as a home health care worker for Harlem Hospital. Flossie is survived by her daughter, Laura Lewis of Charlotte, NC; two sons, Anthony Bush (Linda) of New Jersey and Michael Bush (Eva) of South Mill, NC; her sisters, Anne Bolden and Nellie Mitchell both of Ridgeland, SC, Agnes Harris of Atlanta, GA and Albertha Hauges of Charlotte, NC; her brothers, Albert Bush of Bluffton, SC and Rev. Henry Bolden of New York City; four grandchildren, Charles Lewis, Jr., Sharon Anderson, Anthony Bush, Jr.,Tanisha Bush and Nakisha Bush; thirteen great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her daughter, Margie Bush; son, Carl Bush; sisters, Marie Fuller and Florrie Gaston and deceased brother, Jessie Bush. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, January 22, 2018 at St. Luke Baptist Church, Ridgeland, SC with burial in Jackville Cemetery, Bluffton, SC. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 am until the hour of the service at the church.
