Frances Smith Cope

Frances Smith Cope, 90, widow of James R. Cope, Sr. died Wednesday, January 23, 2014 at her home in Grays, SC. She was born in Grays, SC on July 17, 1923 to the late Alexander Hamilton Smith and Dona Faulk Smith. She was a Cosmotologist. She owned and operated Frances' Beauty Shop in Grays, SC since 1950. She was an active member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church and she loved to work in her garden. She is survived by her longtime friend and companion, Harold Stanley; daughter, Susan C. Romano (Jack) of Lilburn, GA; grandchildren, Matthew Romano, Kevin Romano and Anna Cope and great grandson, Vincent Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband, her son, James R. Cope, Jr. and her sister, Doris Waller. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, January 26, 2014 at Beaver Dam Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until the hour of service at the church.
