Frances Louise McKay, age 86 of Beaufort, SC and formerly of St. Charles, IL, died Sunday, February 9, 2014.
Ms. McKay was born in Lewisville, AR on July 4, 1927, the fifth of nine children of the late George William King and Lucy Edna Brantley. She was a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge and was active with the Women of the Moose where she served as Recorder and Senior Regent. During her years as a member, she was honored by earning the Academy of Friendship and College of Regents awards.
Ms. McKay was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Gus McKay and son, William Paul McKay. She is survived by her sons, Henry Raymond King (Spring Hill, TN), Dennis Charles McKay (Arcadia, FL), James Michael McKay (Terra Bella, CA), and Mark Allen McKay (Gallatin, TN); daughters, Susan Delores Fillmore (Beaufort, SC) and Tamara Louise Nutter (Sarasota, FL); brothers, Conard James Hardin (Tyler, TX) and Charles Oscar Hardin (Nacogdoches, TX); sister, Iva Faye Harvey (Nacogdoches, TX); twenty grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Community Bible Church, 638 Parris Island Gateway, Beaufort, SC 29906. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the funeral service.
Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Island Hospice or Moose Heart Child City and School, Inc., Moose Heart, IL 60539.
