Francis William Bulson, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and man of deep faith, passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on November 15, 2025. He was a longtime resident of Sun City, following his retirement from a successful career with Perkin-Elmer in 1995.
Born on April 25, 1935, in Troy, New York, Francis was the fifth of six children born to the late Walter A. and Edith G. (Vanderwerken) Bulson. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1954 to 1956. He graduated from Hudson Valley Technical Institute in 1958.
Francis married the love of his life, Veronica M. (Ronnie) Bianchino on October 5, 1957. They settled in New Fairfield, CT, raising their family for 25 years and were blessed with eight children.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Veronica, of 68 years, and their seven devoted children: Anne Marie Hoffman (William), Theresa Rotella, Francis Bulson (Kerry), Mary Adams (John), Monica Murphy (Dan), Andrew Bulson (Karen), and Mark Bulson (Kathy). He is also survived by his beloved sister Ann.
He was the cherished grandfather of 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Francis was preceded in death by his parents; his infant daughter, Linda; his granddaughter, Erin; his son-in-law, Leon Rotella; and his siblings, Walter, Charles, Margaret, and Suzanne.
Francis dedicated his life to community and church service in Sun City. He was a faithful member of St. Andrews Parish, a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus, and a lifetime member of the Sun City Veterans.
His deep faith drove him to work tirelessly to establish the complex of St. Gregory the Great, including the parish school and John Paul II High School. He served his parish community for over two decades, sharing his vocal talents for 18 years as a choir member and 5 years as a cantor.
An accomplished tenor and entertainer, Francis led church and community choirs and was an active member of barbershop groups and community theatre, always using his gifts to bring joy and comfort to others. During his tenure at Perkin-Elmer, he famously appeared as 'Junior Smith' in the annual Christmas show, delighting colleagues and their families for years.
Francis found great joy and peace tending his yard. He spent countless hours working on the lawn and his plant beds making sure everything was pruned and manicured. His garden was a testament to his dedication to being a good neighbor and friend to all who happened by.
Francis leaves a legacy of love, laughter, and service to a grateful family and community.
