It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Frank O. Nappi, of Bluffton, SC. Frank was born on June 12, 1938 in Derby, CT, he passed away on May 13, 2025, at the age of 86. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Cynthia; his children: Jennifer (Jay), Frank (Jamie), Allison (Mark), and Linda (Beau); grandchildren: Joseph (Victoria) and Jonathan (Becky); sisters-in-law Trudy and Lillian; nieces and nephews: Melina, Nick, Katie, Kenny, Joey, Karen, and Sally; and countless other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his brothers Ron and Ken; sister-in-law Phyllis and brother-in-law Joe.
He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and proud of his Italian heritage. He was a man of many roles including time as a barber, teacher, and principal. He was a graduate of Southern Connecticut State University, where he and his beautiful wife studied to become teachers together. He served as principal at North Haven, Lyme/Old Lyme, and Madison schools for over 20 years, where he influenced and impacted many students' lives. After his career in education, he owned a Nationwide Insurance Agency in East Lyme and Mansfield Center, CT with his good friend, Jim Walsh.
Frank and Cynthia were longtime residents of Madison, CT, where they were both actively involved in their community before retiring to South Carolina. In SC, Frank was an energetic member of their church and local community, including the Rotary Club, Barbershop Quartet, and Ukulele Club. He will be remembered for his loyalty to family and friends, sense of humor, and veracity for life. He was a proud lifelong fan of the Yankees, Giants and UCONN Huskies.
Frank was never one to sit still, he believed in enjoying the journey and taking time for adventures, but with very little rest. He enjoyed traveling with his beloved wife Cynthia and loved to celebrate the achievements of others and to appreciate all that God had given him. Frank has impacted many lives and will be deeply missed.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on June 6, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at St Gregory the Great Catholic Church in Bluffton, SC.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Bonaventure Indian School and Mission, Thereau, NM or Southern Connecticut State University Scholarship Fund.
