Frank J. Orians

Frank J. Orians, age 74, of Bluffton, SC and formerly of Raeford, NC died Sunday, August 13, 2017 at home. Mr. Orians was born on May 29, 1943 in Detroit, MI. He was a graduate of Campbell University in Lillington, NC. Frank was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during Vietnam and retired as Major. During his tenure he served as a medic and as a green beret with the Special Forces. He was a Purple Heart and Bronze Star recipient. Following his military career he worked as a Veterans Representative at Methodist University and for Hoke County, NC. He was active with Rolling Thunder in Fayetteville and H.O.G. (Harley Owners Group). He was also a member of the VFW, the DAV, and Parker United Methodist Church in Raeford. Mr. Orians was preceded in death by his father, Frank Orians; and sister, Rudee Orians. He is survived by his wife of 6 years, Teresa A. Orians; son, Frank Joel Orians (Sherry); daughter, Michelle Dobbin (Robert); mother, Harriet Menkveld; stepson, Larry Ellis-Palmer (Jessina); stepdaughter, Mary Ellis Meadows (Chris); sisters, Judy Orians and Jean Orians (Jim Blacker); stepbrother, David Menkveld (Nenita); grandchildren, Joseph, Jared, Kendra, and Branda; step-grandchildren, Isabella and Liliana; and great-grandson, Jackson. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon, Friday, August 25, 2017 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Road, Bluffton, SC 29910 with burial following at Beaufort National Cemetery, Beaufort, SC. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
