Frank A. Rizzi, 94, of Bluffton, SC passed away peacefully at home on July 25, 2023. Born in the Bronx, NY on January 12, 1929 to the late Frank and Marie (Vasco) Rizzi.
He served in the U.S. Army as Staff Sargent in the Korean War from January 1951 to October 1952. Upon his return, he decided to attend college at Kutztown State Teachers College receiving his BS degree with a double major in Guidance Services and Social Studies.
He began teaching in Parkland High School in Pennsylvania, teaching World History. He then went on to be a Guidance Counselor. In 1962, Frank was a counselor at Ashbury Park High School. In 1965, he was a counselor and the Director of Guidance at Ocean Township High School. In 1985, he was appointed Assistant Principal before retiring in July 1992. In 1962, he earned his Ed.M. from Leigh University in Guidance and Personnel. Later earning over 30 credits in Administration from Seton Hall University.
He was an avid reader, loved people, socializing, dancing, big band music and of course Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett etc. Frank will be missed by many who knew him.
He was a proud member of the Italian American Club on Hilton Head Island for many years.
Frank is survived by his loving wife, Eileen (Koegel) Rizzi, and his sisters Caroline Rizzi and Theresa Henry, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Proceeded by sisters, Adriana Del Pozzo, Mary Kazak, and brothers Carlo, John and Thomas Rizzi.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Hospice Care of The Lowcountry in Bluffton, SC.
