Frankie Colbert James

April 15, 1946 — August 1, 2025

Ridgeland

Frankie C. James, known lovingly to her family as Nannie, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, whose independent spirit and boundless energy touched everyone who knew her.

Nannie loved reading, watching movies and cooking shows, spoiling the family furbabies, and savoring good food. She retired from Marriott on Hilton Head Island, where she was respected and admired by colleagues and friends alike.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Peggy Jean Canady and Kathy Denise Winningham, and her brother, Robert Dewayne Reynolds. She is survived by her sister, Sue Colbert Strickland, brother, Dennis Carl Reynolds, her son, Jerry James Jr., grandsons, Jesse and Clayton, and great-grandchildren, Casey and Cynthia.

Nannie’s family remembers her as independent, always on the go, and determined. Though she believed she would overcome her illness, her legacy of love, laughter, and devotion to family endures.
