Fred Plaja

Fred Plaja died at his residence in Bluffton, SC on Sunday, March 28th after a brief illness. He was born in Manhattan, NY on November 1, 1930.He was preceded in death by a son, Allen Plaja. He is survived by his loving wife, Harriet of 60 years; a daughter, Karen Vicar and son in law, Jim of Irmo, SC; a son, Joseph Plaja of Bluffton and daughter in law, Nelsa Plaja of Riverview, FL. He was three granddaughters, Tina Waddell of Mooreseville, NC, Amanda Rodney of Greenville, NC and Tracy Plaja of Miami, FL. He also has five great grandchildren.He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and retired as a Shop Supervisor at Dell Electronics. He was an avid hunter and fisherman as well as enjoyed being an amateur photographer. He will be remembered as a great husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, friend and neighbor.The family will receive friends from 5 til 7 pm on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Rd., Bluffton, SC with a 6:30 pm Celebration Of Life.Sauls Funeral Home of Bluffton, SC is assisting the family with their arrangements.
