Frederick S. "Steve" Koehl, 74 Husband of his beloved wife Jeanne (Sun City) Proud father of Rick (Marie) Koehl, Williamsburg, VA; Laura (Tom) Bontrager, New York City; Step children Tom Gibeaut, Olmstead Falls, OH; Jim Gibeaut, Columbus, OH; Julie (Amar) Inalsingh, San Francisco. Loving grandfather of Lindsey Koehl; and Nikhil, Shiva, and Taj Inalsingh. Son of the late Frederick and Margaret Koehl; preceded in death by sister Natalie Koehl Carbetta. Born and raised in Ashland, Ohio, he was a graduate of Oberlin College, with a Doctorate in mathematics from The Ohio State University. He was a 38-year employee of The Ohio State University and the Ohio Supercomputer Center in Columbus, Ohio. Steve and his wife Jeanne moved to Sun City Hilton Head in 1999. Prior to moving to Sun City, Steve was a lifelong athlete, voracious reader, and general pioneer in the technology field. Steve has made a huge difference in the quality of life in the Sun City community through his volunteer work as Hampton Village Neighborhood Rep; chair of the Covenants Committee, service on the Sun City Board of Directors; involvement in the Sun City Community Theatre as the Chair of the SCCT Tech Team; program designer for virtually every major SC Community Theatre production since 2000, and as Webmaster of "˜Steve's Community Hotsheet. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Steve may be sent to the Friends of the Performing Arts of the Lowcountry (FPAL) and mailed to Ira Kirchner, treasurer, 146 Stratford Village Way. Bluffton, SC 29909. Memorial Services for Steve Koehl will be held at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Road, Bluffton SC 29910, at 2pm, Sunday, January 26, 2014.
