Gary E. Goodridge, age 70, of Bluffton, SC passed away on 3/9/16 after a valiant, two-year battle with pancreatic cancer. The last two years didn’t define him nor did they change his ever-optimistic and positive attitude toward life. If you ever met him, you had a friend for life! Golf, fishing, and gambling were his favorite activities. He loved when family and friends came to visit so he could take them on the boat to watch for dolphins and lunch on Daufuskie Island. Smart as a whip and quick witted, he was proud to have started his career at Eastman Kodak in Rochester, NY, as a janitor and worked his way up to General Manager and Regional Vice President of the Health Imaging Division. His 33-year career with Kodak allowed him to work internationally and live in various States until his first retirement. A natural salesman, his medical imaging career continued until it interfered with his golf game a few years ago. He made many friends along the way and many more on the golf course when he moved to Bluffton 11 years ago. Playing in the World Am Golf Tournament, 3 holes-in-one and various golf vacations were a highlight of his life. He was so proud of his children. Grandpa from Chicago (G) and magic Grandpa meant the world to his grandkids, who he adored! Born in Rochester, NY, he was predeceased by his parents, E. Grant Goodridge and Gerry Goodridge, daughter-in-law Michelle Goodridge and brother-in-law Don Miller. He is survived by his wife, Susan Goodridge; daughter Debbie Slocum (Josh) of Churchville, NY; son Dan Goodridge (Julie) of Webster, NY, step-son Alex LaFountain (Nicole) of Bolingbrook, IL, sister Gail Miller of South Bend, IN; brother Greg Goodridge of Honeoye, NY; sister Prartho (Gwennie) Sereno of San Anselmo, CA ; sister, Ginene Heberger (Bob) of Spencerport, NY, brother Gil (Susan) and grandchildren, Mackenzie (Z), Abigail, Jenna, DaYu, Audrey and Mason A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 pm on Thursday, 3/24/16, at Crescent Pointe Golf Club, 1 Crescent Pointe Dr., Bluffton, SC 29910.
