​Gary E. Mims

Gary E. Mims, 74 of Bluffton, SC formerly of Ridgeland, SC, died Monday, November 20, 2017 at Ridgeland Nursing Center. He was born in Hartford, Conn. and lived in Connecticut most of his life.

He is survived by his wife, Marian A. Mims, of Bluffton, SC; three brothers, Michael, Robert, and Loren Mims; a sister, Joann Sturgill; three stepsons, Raymond Lopez, Robert Lopez, and Mark Dewey; one stepdaughter, Laurie Zahler; and two step-grandchildren, Liane Lopez and Zachary Zahler.

Gary was very talented in carpentry, plumbing, and electrical and worked most of his life. Gary was liked by all. He was in poor health for the past 16 months with strokes and seizures. He surely will be missed by everyone. His wife would like to thank the dedicated caregivers who helped with his care at home as well as the dedicated caregivers from Tidewater Hospice.

A celebration of life will be at a date to be announced in January at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 351 Buckwalter Pkwy, Bluffton, SC. Remembrances may be made to Tidewater Hospice, 10 Buckingham Plantation Drive, Suite A, Bluffton, SC 29910 or Lord of Life Lutheran Church.

Sauls Funeral Home of Bluffton will be assisting the family with arrangements.
