Gea Ciaramelli

Mrs. John Ciaramelli (Gea DiMarzo), 96, of Bluffton SC, passed away Friday, April 12, 2013. Gea was born on February 15, 1917 in Mount Vernon, NY to the late Errico DiMarzo and Clotilde Petrillo DiMarzo. She graduated from A.B. Davis High School in 1934 and married the late John A. Ciaramelli in 1946. She had two children, Jeanne and Anthony. Married for 52 years, she was a devoted mother, an exceptional homemaker and hostess, and an avid bridge player. She was known for her impeccable style, her love of travel, sense of adventure and, above all, her graciousness. Professionally, she worked in the banking industry, retiring in 1982 as Vice President.Survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jeanne and Jeffrey Haworth of Bluffton, SC; son, Anthony, and partner Joseph Harney of New York City and Clinton Corners, NY. Four sisters and brothers-in-law survive: Mrs. Gerard Ruffalo, Pleasantville, NY; Mr. and Mrs. George Fette, of Allamuchy, NJ; Miss Natalie DiMarzo of Rye Brook, NY; and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Tramontano of White Plains, NY and Boca Raton, FL. Step-grandson and his wife, Christopher and Brenda Haworth of Ocala, FL and two great-grandchildren, Justin and Hudson, also survive. Additional survivors include numerous nieces and nephews and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 14, 2013 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Road, Bluffton. A mass of Christian Burial is to follow on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at the Church of the Resurrection in Rye, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
