Genevieve Angsten Dineen

Genevieve Angsten Dineen 97, of Hilton Head and Bluffton S.C., passed away October 23, 2021.

She was born on November 19, 1923, the daughter of John L. Angsten and Ida (Dreesman) Angsten in Burlington, Wisconsin. The sister of Lucille (Angsten) Cook and Robert Angsten.

She attended Ray - Vogue School of Design in Chicago, IL. Upon graduating she began working at Marshall Field & Company where she went on to become a Buyer. It was while working at Fields that she met her future husband Emmett L. Dineen. She was a successful career woman as well as a loving wife and mother to two daughters.  She and Emmett moved to Hilton Head, her “happy place” in 1986.  Genevieve lived a long, remarkable life; those who knew her admired her grace, strength and humor.

She is survived by her two daughters: Stephanie (Mark) Dalton of Winfield, IL and Sheila (Brent) Rumsey of Highlands Ranch, CO. She was the beloved Gen-Gen to five grandchildren. Meghan (William Briggs) Dalton, Michael (Nicole) Dalton, Gena Rumsey, Emily Rumsey, Jessica Rumsey and Great Gen-Gen to Brayden Thomas Dalton.

Genevieve was a parishioner of Saint Gregory the Great Catholic Church where a funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am, Friday, November 19, 2021. 31 Saint Gregory Drive, Bluffton.
