Born on May 4, 1939, to Clement and Genevieve Quinn, Genevieve A. Halk was a woman whose kindness, strength, and warmth touched all who knew her.
Raised in West Hempstead, New York, Genevieve dedicated her life to caring for others, first as a nurse and always as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was predeceased by her sister, Eileen (Pat) Costello, and is survived by her sister, Kathleen Acquaro (Pete), and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Genevieve married the love of her life, John J. Halk, on August 19, 1961. Together they built a loving home in Floral Park and raised their three children, John, James, and Jeanne. She also embraced their spouses, Christine, Donna, and Scott, as members of her family.
Her greatest joy was her family. She treasured her grandchildren, Amanda, Lauren, John, Emily, Olivia, Kevin, Katelyn, and William, and adored her great-grandchildren, Ella Grace, Harrison, Theodore (Teddy), and Sadie.
Genevieve will be remembered for her caring spirit, unwavering love for her family, and the kindness she shared with everyone she met.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 am, Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at Saint Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 31 St. Gregory Dr., Bluffton.
