George Adam Simoneaux, 55, of Bluffton, South Carolina, passed away unexpectedly on June 27, 2026. His passing leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of his family, friends, and the countless people whose lives were made better simply by knowing him.
Born on June 6, 1971, in Savannah, Georgia, Adam was the beloved son of Lee and June Simoneaux. He grew up surrounded by family, hard work, and the values of loyalty, generosity, and community that would guide him throughout his life.
Adam graduated from Benedictine Military School in 1989 before attending the College of Charleston, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in 1994. While his education provided the foundation for his career, it was his authentic ability to connect with people that became his greatest gift.
As a young man, Adam worked in his family’s local grocery, butcher shop, and video businesses, learning early that success is not solely defined by hard work, but also by the relationships you cultivate and your service to others. After college, he moved to Key West where he founded the Sunset Candy Company, combining his entrepreneurial spirit with his love of creating experiences that brought joy to others.
Eventually Adam was drawn back to the Lowcountry and his career reflected his diverse talents and interests. Alongside his wife, Lyndee, they owned and operated The Sippin’ Cow, creating a place where people gathered, laughed, and made memories. He shared his passion for the water as a captain with Outside Hilton Head. Adam proudly carried forward the legacy of his family through Scott’s Market, the three-generation Bluffton institution that served the community for decades. Most recently, he worked as a sales executive with Windward Shutters, where his warmth and honesty earned him the respect and friendship of both clients and colleagues.
Adam was about to embark on a new chapter in his career with Bluffton Self Help. He was so excited to be making a difference in the community he so deeply loved. In honor of Adam and to fulfill his wish, the Adam Simoneaux Memorial Fund for the benefit of Bluffton Self Help has been created to ensure that Adam’s spirit will contribute to this organization for years to come.
First and foremost, Adam was a devoted husband and father.
His greatest joy in life was his family. He loved his wife, Lyndee, with unwavering devotion. He took immense pride in his children, Virginia Adelyne and George Harris. Whether offering advice, making early morning breakfast, cheering from the sidelines, or simply spending time together, his family was always at the center of his world.
Adam lived life fully and enthusiastically. He loved the water, playing pickleball, fishing, grilling for friends, tending his garden, listening to music, and spending time with his beloved animals. He was a gifted storyteller who could captivate a room with humor, wit, and the ability to find joy in everyday moments.
To know Adam was to know laughter.
He had a remarkable way of making people feel important. He remembered names, shared stories, offered help without being asked, and welcomed everyone as if they were already family. He was often the first to organize a gathering, the last to leave, and the one person everyone hoped would walk through the door. His playlists were epic and always kept the party going with each great song.
His friendships ran deep. Adam had friends from every stage of his life; childhood, college, and adulthood. He fostered those friendships and made the people close to him feel loved. His Wednesday Mensday and pickleball groups became like brothers to him. The bonds he formed throughout Bluffton and beyond were among his greatest treasures. He believed in supporting local businesses, helping neighbors, and preserving the spirit of Bluffton that he cherished so deeply.
He also gave his time to organizations including the May River Theatre and the Marine Rescue Squadron, quietly contributing to causes and people that mattered to him.
Adam is survived by his loving wife, Lyndee Barnhill Simoneaux; his daughter, Virginia Adelyne Simoneaux; his son, George Harris Simoneaux; his parents, Lee Martin Simoneaux, June Scott Simoneaux; his mother-in-law, Charlotte Geraty Main; his many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who mourn his loss and celebrate his life.
His enduring presence will be remembered around dinner tables, on sandbars, pickleball courts, and among friends gathered together. His laughter will echo in the memories of those who loved him, and his kindness will live on, through the many lives he touched.
A visitation will be held Friday, July 10, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Road, Bluffton, South Carolina.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 11, at 6:00 p.m. at Oyster Factory Park, 63 Wharf Street, Bluffton, South Carolina.
