George Mervin Anderson April 20, 1929 – December 22, 2025

George Mervin Anderson, 96, passed away peacefully at home in Bluffton, South Carolina on December 22, 2025, with his loving wife, Helen, by his side. Born April 20, 1929, in Tomahawk, Wisconsin, George was the son of Mervin and Florence (Horni) Anderson. He was a man of faith, a dedicated family man and veteran who loved his country.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Bonnie LeDuc, and his former wife Elsie.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Helen and her two children, Victoria Morrison and Suzanne Reynolds (David); his three children: Jeannie Higgins (Peter), Nikki Stanley (Joel), and Linda Cheatham (Roy). George delighted in the lives of his grandchildren—Alison, Sydnie, Leslie, Taylor, Brooke, and James—and his great-grandson, Leland.

He grew up on his grandparents’ farm in Tomahawk before moving to Miami for warmer weather. George proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps and began his career in pharmaceutical sales. After a successful tenure with SmithKline and A.H. Robins, he continued to excel in other ventures, including his work with Herman Miller, before founding Southco Graphics with Helen, building a successful business together.

Throughout their marriage, George and Helen traveled extensively, including historic journeys aboard the Concord and the Queen Elizabeth II. He was an avid sports fan, especially of football and golf, and loved sharing stories. He leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories and a shining example of grace, kindness and devotion.

George was a dedicated member of the United Methodist Church in Miami, Atlanta, Anderson, and Bluffton, serving as a Sunday School teacher, Lay Leader, and on Pastor/Parish Relations committees. His faith guided his life, and he now joins a host of loved ones in Heaven. George’s life was a testament to hard work, faith, and love.
