George Warner Beach

George W. Beach of Okatie, S.C. went to be with our Lord and Savior on July 31, 2010.George was born on Sept. 18, 1928 in Ridgeland, S.C. where he lived most of his life. He was an insurance agent and staff manager by the Independent Life & Accident Insurance Co. for 17 years and an agent and Assistant Manager for the South Atlantic Insurance Co. for 25 years. He was a life member of the American 98 Masonic Lodge in Ridgeland where he served as Tyler for several years. He was also a member of the Order of the Easter Star, Mary Heyward Chapter 124 in Ridgeland, SC where he served as Marshal. He was a devoted member of the Okatee Baptist church. He served his country in the Navy both in the Atlantic and Pacific oceans onboard the USS Bordelon and the USS Juneau. He was preceded in death by his parents: Warner L. Beach and Janie Myrtle Martin Beach. He was also preceded by his son, Arnold L. Beach, his 2 sisters, Alla Mae McElreath and Janie Lee Walsh and his brother, Archie "Bruce" Beach. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 1/2 years, Phyllis Van Dyne Beach of Okatie, SC, two daughters; Georgia Lee Turner "Ard" of Tillman, SC and Marcy Beach-Britton "Scott" of Okatie, five grandsons; Sean Horry of Ridgeland, Aaron "LaTesha" of Ridgeland, Jayme Beach "Angell" of Ridgeland, Byron Beach of Gillisonville, SC, Casey Turner "Kiah" of Tillman, and 1 granddaughter; Nicole Wargo "Josh Privette" of Okatie, five great grandsons; Jacob and Braydon Horry of Ridgeland, Trenton, Triston and Talon of Ridgeland, four great granddaughters; Brieghlee Beach of Ridgeland, Alexis and Khloe Turner of Tillman and Kayla Gabrielle Privette of Okatie, several nieces and nephews, two brother-in-laws; Phil Van Dyne "Sally" of Weston, Ohio and Thaire Haydon "Boy" Daley of Tillman.Memorial Services will be held at Okatee Baptist Church on Saturday, August 7, 2010 at 3:00 pm.In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the following:Okatee Baptist Church, 991 Okatie Hwy, Okatie, SC 29909Hospice Care of the Lowcountry, 119 Palmetto Way, Bluffton SC 29910
