George Walton Cooler

George Walton Cooler, 84, of Okatie, SC, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at his home. He was born in Okatie on August 10, 1927 the son of the late Bertha Terry and William M. Cooler, Sr. He worked for Union Camp and International Paper. He also worked as the manager of the Game Department for Palmetto Bluff. He was a member of the Maye River Baptist Church and was a chairman of the building committee and cemetery committee for many years.He is survived by his wife, Grace Riley Cooler of Okatie; a sister, Carrie C. Travis (Alvin) of Ridgeland, SC; 3 sisters-in-law, Emma, Dot, and Ernestine Cooler all of Okatie; and several nieces and nephews.Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 16, 2012 at Maye River Baptist Church with a burial in the Church Cemetery. A visitation will begin at 1:00 pm prior to the service.The family requests that in lieu of flowers any memorial donations be made to the Maye River Baptist Church Cemetery fund.
