George W. DavisHampton, SCGeorge Washington Davis, 86, died Sunday, January 4, 2009 at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC.He was born in Hampton, SC on April 25, 1922 to the late George James Davis and Martha Mock Davis.He was retired from Westinghouse Corporation and was a US Army Veteran of World War II having served in the Pacific.He is survived by his son, Gene (Angie) Davis of Hampton, SC and his daughter, Marie Cornelia Davis of Garden City, GA. He was preceded in death by his wife Polly Davis. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 pm, Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at the Davis Family Cemetery, Early Branch, SC.Sauls Funeral Home of Ridgeland is assisting the family with their arrangements.
