George A. Fromme

George A. Fromme, age 86 passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 18 th , 2021. He was born in New York City, New York to George and Mary Fromme. He was raised in the Inwood section of New York City and was a longtime resident of Matawan, New Jersey as well as lived in Bedminster, New Jersey. Most recently he was a resident of Hilton Head, South Carolina as well as Bluffton, South Carolina.

George graduated from Manhattan College in Bronx, New York. Upon graduation he served as a member of the United States Navy. After his service he attended New York University, New York City, New York.  He also attended the Wharton School of Business where obtained the designation of CEBS (Certified Employee Benefits Specialist). He was also a CFP (Certified Financial Planner) and a member of the first 10 person graduating class for this designation.

George began his illustrious career in the management training program at Western Electric, New York City, New York where he worked for 13 years. After working at Western Electric he was promoted and worked at AT&T for a 3-year Management Training Program. He was later promoted to Director of AT&T Benefits Planning Group where he worked for 21 years and retired as the HR-Vice President Benefits Planning/Health Insurance/Quality Measurements.

George had an immense love for life and nature. He enjoyed doing sudoku puzzles and exercised on regular basis. He was an avid reader and very spiritual. He enjoyed discussing politics and was very patriotic. He enjoyed basketball as well as fishing with his son Stephen and his grandsons Alexander and Aidan. He was a very generous and kind man. He enjoyed helping people through his leadership, friendship, and guidance. Most of all he enjoyed spending quality time with his wife Marie, family, and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife Marie, his son Stephen, his grandson Alexander and his wife Kimberly, his grandson Aidan, the Herzog family and the Surdoval family.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 9 th from 10:00am to 11:30am at the St. Bernard of Clairvaux Church, 500 US Highway 22 East, Bridgewater, New Jersey 08807. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in George’s memory to the Wounded Warrior Project (www.woundedwarriorproject.org).
