George James Hermiston

George James Hermiston, 76 of Bluffton, SC passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2011 at his home.He was born in Boston, Massachusetts on March 17, 1935. He was the son of the late George J. and Josephine Baker Hermiston.He was a former Principal with the Boston City School System. He was an avid Gardner and baker. He was a former member of the Massachusetts National Guard. He was a member of Saint Gregory the Great Catholic Church.He is survived by is wife, Maureen Moroney Hermiston of Bluffton; one son, George M. Hermiston of Charlotte, NC; one daughter Nancy Parsons (Mark C. Parsons) of Marietta, GA; one sister, Jane Potenza (Robert) of Boston, MA and two grandchildren, Josie Parsons and Jack Parsons of Marietta, GA. He was predeceased by one son, Andrew Hermiston. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 333 Fording Island Road, Bluffton at 11:00 am, Friday, August 5, 2011.The family request memorial gifts be made to the American Cancer Society, 11 Mallett Way, Suite 301, Bluffton, SC 29910.
