George David Randall

George David Randall, 79, of Bluffton, SC passed away on April 22, 2026, after an extended illness.

A lifelong resident of Beaufort County, he was born on December 6, 1946, at Beaufort Memorial Hospital. He grew up in Port Royal, SC spending time on his uncle’s shrimp boat.

After serving in the United States Army David went to work with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office rising through the ranks to retire after 32 years at the rank of Major. He then went to work for the University of South Carolina Beaufort in the office of Public Safety. He was known for his honesty, his sense of humor, and his gift of storytelling. In his retirement he loved spending time caring for his yard and the animals that surrounded it.

David is survived by his daughter Lynn Randall (Bluffton), and God Given Daughters Gail Roberson (Bluffton) and Patti Kersey (West Virginia). Two sisters in law, Toni Crawford (Bluffton) and Helen Highsmith (Ellabell, GA), three nieces, two nephews and three cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years Vicki Highsmith Randall, and his parents Myles and Lois Randall.

David believed deeply in respect and lived by the motto: “Show them respect, and you will get respect back.”

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Sauls Funeral Home in Bluffton. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 pm and the service will be at 3:00 pm.
