George Washington Rivenbark

George Washington Rivenbark passed peacefully on June 10, 2021. He was born in Rose Hill, NC on February 22, 1926. He was pre-deceased by his wife, Evelyn, and son George (Griff) Rivenbark. He was also pre-deceased by his long-time companion Virginia Wheeler.

He is survived by his son John Rivenbark (Jenet) and daughter Sallie Maydwell, his grandchildren (Adam, Joshua, Rachel, Sean, and Sarah) and great grandchildren (Cailyn and Jonathan).  He is also survived by many nieces and nephews

He was a retired nuclear engineer from the Nuclear Regulatory Agency and kept active for many years cross-country skiing, traveling, and playing tennis.  He was also active in the Sun City Solos Club.

He will be missed by many.

A private graveside service will be held at a future date in Silver Spring, Maryland. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a local food bank or Hospice Care of the Lowcountry.
