Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Janice Ruth Judd St. George and his sons Brian Christopher St. George (Abby Harris) and Cmdr. Jeffrey Judd St. George, USN (Meghan Devaney St. George); grandchildren Madigan Olivia (Molly) St. George, Everett Judd St. George, Lucey Olivia St. George and his step-granddaughter Alex Williams; sisters-in-law Ellen Cashman St. George, Joyce Judd Barker, and Alice Judd Davis(Stephen), niece Ellen St. George, nephews Peter Davis and Michael Davis (Melissa), Cmdr Alexander Barker, USCG (Annelle), Peter St. George (Karen) and Thomas St. George (Meredith).

Raised in New York City and on Long Island, New York, he graduated second in his class from Seton Hall High School. He attended the State University of New York at Buffalo, on a Regents Scholarship, where he received a B.S. in Business Administration (with High Distinction) in September 1970, was elected to Beta Gamma Sigma Honorary Society and received a Wall Street Journal Student Achievement Award. He served as the Chairman of the Undergraduate Management Council and also served as a teaching assistant in accounting. At UB, George was a member of Theta Chi Fraternity where he was Historian for the Chapter. He was later named to the Silver Legion of Theta Chi.

George received a Masters Degree in Business from the University at Buffalo and a Masters in Hospital Administration from the Medical College of Virginia (Virginia Commonwealth University). He had the privilege of serving as the CEO of six hospitals in Pennsylvania, New York, Massachusetts, and Georgia. He served as CEO of Screven County (Georgia) Hospital from 1998 to 2010 when he retired after negotiating the successful sale of governmentally owned Screven County Hospital (Georgia) to private ownership.

In the healthcare community, George served on boards and committees of various local health providers in Pennsylvania, New York and Georgia. He served as a Board of Trustee member of the Georgia Hospital Association (GHA) and was a founding board member, and later Chairman, of the GHA’s Center for Rural Health. George was a Life Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

In civic affairs, George was a member of boards of the YMCA, Chambers of Commerce, United Way and Rotary International. A member of four different Rotary Clubs over his career, he was elected as President of the Sylvania (Georgia) club. He achieved the distinction of being awarded status as a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International.

George was an avid golfer, shooting a sub-par round on his birthday in 2005 and winning a Club Flight Championship in 2010. He played around the country, in Canada, England, Africa, Mexico and the Caribbean. Shortly before he retired, George began pursuit of his “Quest”. His goal was to play every  golf course in the world that had “St. George” in its name. At the time of his death, he had played 15 of the seventeen courses that he had identified, three of which have routinely been listed in Top 100 courses in the world. Only two, both in Australia, eluded him.

Of all his experiences, he was proudest of the achievements of his sons in their personal and professional lives. He gave his wife full credit for preparing them for those successes. He dearly loved his granddaughters and grandson (with whom he shared a birthday). A Remembrance Luncheon will be held at a later date.
