George Washington Vence Jr.

George Washington Vence Jr., 71 of Bluffton and husband of Sharon Louise Farrell Vence passed away on June 19, 2016 at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC. Mr. Vence was born in Bridgeton, NJ on November 21, 1944 to the late George Washington Vence and Pearl Walti Vence and moved to Bluffton in 2006. Mr. Vence was a retired Lab Technician for DuPont-Merck Pharmaceuticals. Mr. Vence was a member of the Carolina Dreamers Car Club and loved driving and displaying his 1964 Corvette. Mr. Vence was a Methodist; former City Council member in Elmer, NJ; graduate Bridgeton High School in 1963; football and wrestling letterman; enjoyed woodworking; enjoyed camping in the Smokey Mountains along the Blue Ridge Parkway. In addition to his wife of 52 years, Mr. Vence is survived by his mother, Pearl Walti Vence of Lakeland, FL; his son, Michael George Vence of Bluffton, SC; his sister, Janet Hefley (John) of Lakeland, FL and nephew, Bryan Kuehn of Lakeland, FL. Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
