Gerald Paul LaMantia peacefully entered his heavenly home on November8, 2012. He is survived by Adrienne, his beloved wife of 49 years, hischildren, MaryLynne of California, Francis of Connecticut, and hisgrandchildren, Alex, Kendall and Taylor.Dr. Gerald LaMantia, Ed.D., pursued his professional career as ateacher, administrator, and consultant. He was AssistantSuperintendent of the Board of Cooperative Education Services serving26 school districts. He enthusiastically responded to the needsof the New York State Education Department, co-workers and members ofLong Island communities.Jerry was a dedicated member of his Church and the Knights of Columbus.He genuinely supported, and reached out to members of hisShoreham, NY and Rose Hill, SC communities. Jerry often expressedgratitude for his wonderful, playful life with family and friends.There will be a Funeral Mass celebration on Monday, November 26th at11:30 at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, with internmentfollowing at the Resurrection Garden.The family requests that memorial gifts be given to Hospice of the LowCountry, Rose Hill Caring Neighbors or to those affected by Sandy.
