Geraldine (Gerry) F. Griffin passed away peacefully on February 17, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. Gerry was a native of Long Island, New York, where she worked as a registered nurse and a special education teacher. She and her husband became Hilton Head Islanders nearly forty-five years ago. As an Island business owner, she was active in the community, serving as Hilton Head Zonta Club President and volunteering for various charitable organizations and causes. Gerry will be remembered by friends and family members for her good humor, quick wit, no nonsense approach, compassion, and Italian cooking. She was predeceased by her Husband Jim, Son Tim, Brother Arthur, and Aunt Louise, as well as many other aunts, uncles, and cousins. Gerry is survived by her daughter Sherri (Kevin) Lawless, granddaughter Skyler (Jordan) Graham, and great-granddaughter Aurora Graham, in addition to cousins, nieces, and nephews.  A funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at St. Francis by the Sea Catholic Church, 45 Beach City Road, Hilton Head Island, SC 29926. A reception will immediately follow in the Church’s Family Center. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to a charitable organization of your choice in Gerry’s name.
