Gerard Hugh O'Connor

Gerard H. O’Connor, or “Jerry”, age 76, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at Beaufort Memorial Hospital in Beaufort, SC. He was born at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, CT to Hugh and Loretta O’Connor. He was a graduate of Conard High School and earned his degree from Central Connecticut State College. He married Carolann Jacobson on August 9, 1969 in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Farmington, CT. He worked in sales and management at Newcomb Spring Corp in Atlanta, GA, Ooltewah, TN and Southington, CT. Gerard got along with almost everybody and enjoyed conversation, fishing, camping, scout mastering and coaching little league. He was a Past Grand Knight for the Knights of Columbus. Jerry’s good nature left a lasting impression on those who knew and loved him and he will be deeply missed. He is survived by his wife, Carol; sons, Sean and Ryan; brothers, Hugh O’Connor and his wife Karen and John O’Connor and his wife Janet and their sons Josh and Matthew; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Family, friends and others who Gerard’s life touched are invited to a mass honoring his life at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 31 St Gregory Dr, Bluffton SC, at 10:30 am on Friday, February 9, 2024 and to the following interment of his ashes at Sauls Funeral Home (Lowcountry Memorial Gardens) in Bluffton at 1:30 pm to remember, grieve and celebrate his cherished life.
