Gladys Huffman Sutton

Gladys Huffman Sutton, 90, of Bluffton, SC, passed away Friday, August 26, 2022, surrounded by family.

Gladys was born June 27, 1932, in Nashville, TN, to the late Hugh Lawson Huffman and Daisy Gladys Greene Huffman. She was a homemaker and a godly, loving wife and mother. She loved to conduct children’s Bible Clubs, support gospel preaching ministries, and personally share the Good News with everyone she met. The gospel of Jesus Christ was at the center of her life. She wanted everyone to know the truth that God will save whoever comes to Him by faith and depends on the promises of the scriptures.

Gladys was married to Lt. Col. Thomas R Sutton (Ret.) for over 50 years. She is survived by daughter, Amy Ruth Sutton of Eugene, Oregon; son, Brian Andrew (Karen) Sutton of Bluffton; 7 grandchildren: Stephen Sutton, Jennifer Weathers, Daniel Slack, Tommy Slack, Andy Sutton, Emily Sutton, Rachael Sutton; 8 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and a son, John Mark.

Visitation will begin at 9:00 am followed by a funeral service at 10:00 am, Thursday, September 1, 2022, at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Rd, Bluffton. Burial will be at 12:00 noon at Beaufort National Cemetery. Pastor Scott Barber of Bible Baptist Church will be officiating the services.
