Glenna Bryant

Glenna Mae Bryant, 79, of Bluffton, died April 1, 2012 at Coastal Carolina Hospital after an extended illness.Glenna was born December 17, 1932 near Newton, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn & Ida Ryther, and her brother Wayne Ryther.She graduated from Newton High School in 1951 and graduated in 1954 from Iowa Methodist Nursing School in Des Moines, Iowa. Her 20+ year nursing career had her working in hospitals in Iowa, Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina.Glenna married Harry in 1956 and had a loving marriage of 55 years. They have three sons; Steve and wife Debbie of Colleyville, TX; Mike and wife Nancy of Gibsonville, NC; Scott and wife Patty of Marietta, GA, and 6 grandchildren.Glenna liked to travel and spend time with friends. She enjoyed playing golf with the Sun City 9-holers, watching professional golf, and following the Atlanta Braves. She was a member of several clubs in Sun City and was one of the original volunteers at Coastal Carolina Hospital. A memorial service will be held at Church of the Palms United Methodist Church, 1425 Okatie Highway, Okatie, SC on Wednesday, April 11th at 2:00pm.In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice Care of the Lowcountry, P.O.
