Gloria J. Patrick

November 7, 1947 — October 7, 2025

Gloria J. Patrick

Gloria Patrick, 77, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ October 7, 2025. She was born in Pembroke, GA to the late Joshua and Inez Sims.

Most of her life was spent loving her family, raising two children and loving her grandchildren. She would say “I love you, now and forever.” She was firm in her belief that we should be in Church and she made sure we were there while under her care. Her faith was strong in that she did not worry much, she placed her faith in her Savior, and would remind us to do the same when things weren’t going well.

She was the beloved wife of 57 years to Richard “Ricky” Patrick. They married February 17, 1968 in Savannah. They lived most of their lives traveling along the east coast serving our Country in the Navy. She was devoted to my Dad’s work in that they spent months and at one time two years apart while he served. She held things together while he was away with strength and dignity. She kept an orderly home, always clean and organized, just like the Navy would require. Once he retired from service, they moved to Levy, SC where they spent 30 years together. When health issues arose they moved closer to family in Griffin, GA in 2021, where she spent the last of her days.

While living in Levy, she attended Okatee Baptist Church in Ridgeland, SC where she served in the Children’s ministry, taught a Ladies Sunday School class, served in the WMU and sang in the Choir. She enjoyed directing the Fall Festivals there. She enjoyed and loved her Church family. She missed them when she could no longer attend due to health reasons.

She is survived by her husband Richard Patrick, children Melody Clendenen and Shawn Patrick, her grandchildren, Kailey, Kelsey and Lena, and her siblings, Jack Sims, Jerry Sims and Joey Sims. She is remembered for her strong love for her family and doing for them what was best.

She loved music of all genres and loved to dance. Pretty clothes, handbags and jewelry were a must. She will be sorely missed until we see her again.

The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at Okatee Baptist Church 5467 Okatie Hwy, Ridgeland.  The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, October 14,2025 at Okatie Baptist Church.  Burial will follow at Lanes Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, 1022 Lanes Church Rd, Brooklet, GA.
