Gloria Anzalone Shelton

Gloria Anzalone Shelton, 62 of Hardeeville, SC and formerly of Stafford, VA, died peacefully at home surrounded by family on May 4, 2015 after a long battle with cancer. Born in Watertown, NY, she moved to Washington, DC in 1973 to work on Capitol Hill. Soon after, she began employment with the Mars Company in McLean, VA, before taking a job with the Stafford County Public Schools where she worked for 28 years. She is survived by her daughter, Michael and her husband Christopher and their three children Reed, Mira, and Shane of Purcellville, VA; her brother Philip Anzalone and his wife Patti of Hardeeville, SC; her sister Angela Crescenzi and her husband Jim of Watertown, NY; her sister Mary Sanchez and her husband Tom of Black River, NY; her step-son Chris Shelton of Alexandria, VA; many nieces and nephews, and countless friends. She is predeceased by her parents Samuel and Lillian Anzalone and her husband of 38 years Richard. In lieu of a formal funeral, a celebration of life will take place near her hometown at a later date. To honor Gloria's life the family asks that a donation be made to an animal charity of your choice.
