Grady L. Woods, Sr.Gillisonville, SCGrady Lanier Woods, Sr., 83, passed away Thursday, May 27, 2010 at his home in Gillisonville, SC.He was born in Ridgeland, SC on March 16, 1927 to the late Marion Woods and Ethel Malphrus Woods.He was a retired Civil Service employee on MCRD Parris Island, SC; US Navy Veteran of WWII, having served in the Atlantic and Mediterranean. He was a member of Gillisonville Baptist Church and Tarboro Hunting Club. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.He is survived by his wife, Margie Heape Woods of Gillisonville, SC; one son, Grady L. (Evie) Woods, Jr. of Ridgeland, SC; two daughters, Sharon W. (Michael) Boyles of Gillisonville, SC; Marilyn (Bill) Davis of Summerville, SC; one brother, Fay R. (Elizabeth) Woods of Grays, SC; one sister, Grace Vest of Port Royal, SC; grandchildren, Shannon (Sara) and Joshua Boyles; Seth, Aimee and Charlee Davis; Grady L. Woods, III, Lanie and Kent Woods; great granddaughter Ross Boyles. He was preceded in death by five sisters and two brothers.Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm, Sunday, May 30, 2010 at Gillisonville Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm until the hour of service at the church.
