Graham Watson

May 14, 1955 — March 27, 2025

Graham Watson, 69, of Bluffton, SC passed away at home, Thursday, March 27, 2025

Graham was born May 14, 1955, in London, England, to the late Colin and Beryl Watson. He earned a scholarship to Bancroft’s School in Woodford Green, where he played rugby, developed a love of hockey which continued into his adult life, and played the drum in the Cadet Force band.

In his early twenties, Graham worked in insurance in London. He met and married his first wife, Ruth, and through Graham’s employment, they emigrated to the USA, living and working in New York. He loved his time there, working and socialising, and playing in a New Jersey hockey team. However, it didn’t suit Ruth, who returned to England to live. After some while, Graham met and married his second wife, Christine, with whom he shared many happy years of marriage. They moved to Bluffton in 2000, where they enjoyed a different pace of life, Graham now working in retail, which suited him. He loved being helpful and especially liked being able to work with animals.

Graham and Christine chose not to have children, but instead, fostered dogs and cats – most of whom they decided to adopt as their own. Graham had a big collection of rock music and Country and Western, and he enjoyed going to live concerts. He also taught himself to play the guitar, liked playing golf, and loved eating out with friends.

Graham and Christine both suffered ill health over a number of years. They were a real support to each other, and after Christine passed away, Graham was most fortunate to have great friendship and assistance from the family he chose, and friends he made there.

Graham leaves behind a loving aunt of whom he was most fond, three younger siblings, five nieces and nephews, and a number of cousins, all of whom live in England.

Graham was a kind man with a big heart. He was incredibly generous to visiting family and friends. He faced his illnesses with courage and never gave up trying to heal.

He will be greatly missed.
