Dr. Gregory L. Burhans

Dr. Gregory L. Burhans, 82, of Bluffton, SC and formerly of Battle Creek, MI died Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at NHC-Bluffton. Dr. Burhans was born in Ann Arbor, MI on August 3, 1932, the son of the late Gene Burhans and Marian Starbuck Burhans. He was a graduate of the University of Michigan and continued at the University of Michigan Medical School where he earned his Doctorate. He practiced as a Pathologist for 28 years before retiring to Sun City-Hilton Head, SC. Dr. Burhans is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Marlene Burhans; sons, Michael Burhans of Erlanger, KY and David Burhans (Karyn) of ND; daughters, Kathleen Burhans of Santa Fe, NM and Susan Burhans of Phoenix, AZ; and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 351 Buckwalter Parkway, Bluffton, SC 29910 or to any charity of choice in memory of Dr. Burhans.
