Guy Walter Noce

Guy Walter Noce died peacefully at his home in Hampton Lake, in Bluffton, South Carolina on July 13, 2022. Born on February 25, 1954 in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Anthony Noce and Zosia (Noce) Hallam. Guy is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Gloria Noce of Bluffton, South Carolina and Montgomery County, Maryland. He also leaves behind his loving sister, Carla Noce of Skillman, New Jersey, and stepchildren Andrea Harknett, Elizabeth Siegall. Byron Siegall and Hillary Siegall. He was a proud and loving Nonno to his grandchildren Cooper and Kendall Harknett. His dogs Griffin and Ringo will miss him, too.

Guy’s youth and education were spent in Pennsylvania, Germany, New Jersey and Long Island, New York where he graduated high school a New York State Regents Scholar and a State Merit Scholar. He settled in Maryland and received a Bachelor of Science degree from Johns Hopkins University and a second Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Towson State University. He worked in Information Technology with varied consulting and hardware technology companies, retiring in March 2021, and relocated to South Carolina, with his wife Gloria.

Guy’s interests ranged from the political to philosophical to poetic. His political interests took him to Viet Nam, Laos and Cambodia, as well as the former Yugoslavia. He loved Paris and Mexico, spending time to acquire French and Spanish language skills. Guy was an oenophile, gourmet cook, animal lover, avid non-fiction reader, and a born fisherman and sailor, with a love of the water.

Guy received a life-saving kidney transplant in 2017 from a selfless and generous second-cousin, Jill Zalenski. He continued to live his life fully, with special interest in kidney related issues.
