Hardy Franklin Youmans

Hardy Franklin Youmans Sr. 78 of Hardeeville, SC and husband of Hazel Smith Youmans passed away on September 5, 2017 at Coastal Carolina Hospital, Hardeeville, SC after a short illness. Mr. Youmans was born in Blackshear, GA on March 28, 1939 to the late William Elmer Youmans and Janie Dryden Youmans. He was a building contractor who enjoyed his profession; member and Deacon of Abundant Life Church; an avid local racing and NASCAR fan; and a volunteer for the Hardeeville Fire Department and Emergency Medical Service. He had a great love for his wife and his family. Mr. Youmans, in addition to his wife of Hardeeville, is survived by his son, Hardy F. Youmans Jr. (Ellen) of Irmo; three daughters, Mary K. Horton (Bill) of Hardeeville, Sherry Y. Woodward (Sam) of Ridgeland and Missy Y. Gatlin (Randy) of Hardeeville; and his daughter in law, Teresa Youmans of Hardeeville. He is also survived by his 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and one sister, Betty Youmans of St. Helena Island, also one brother, Latrell Youmans of Statesboro, Ga. Mr. Youmans is the eighth out of a family of eleven brothers and sisters. Memorials may be sent to the Hardeeville Fire Department or the Jasper County Fire and Rescue Defibrillator Fund. Must be done in attention to "In Loving Memory of Hardy Youmans Sr." Memorial services will be held at 3:00 pm, Sunday, September 17, 2017 at Sauls Funeral Home, 310 W. Adams St., Ridgeland with burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Beaufort, SC. The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 pm until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
