Harold Stancil Pittman, 84, of Ridgeland, passed away May 25, 2012 at his home. He was born on May 19, 1928 in Wilson, NC, the son of the late Elmer and Elsie Stancil Pittman. He was a Christian. He was the co-founder and owner of Fitton and Pittman Construction Co. Upon his retirement, he became a farmer. He was a US Army Veteran. He was a volunteer for Outdoors Without Limits. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and helping and mentoring others.He is survived by his wife, Helen Dills Pittman of Ridgeland, SC; son Harold Cery Brooks Pittman of Ridgeland, SC; daughter Sandy Lee P. Estes of Columbia, SC; brothers W. Andy Pittman, Jimmy Pittman, and Wayne Pittman all of West Columbia, SC; sisters Anne Kyuck of Southgate, MI, Marjorie Cooper and Dorothy Barnes of Kinley, NC; Ida Cox of Durham, NC; and grandson, David Emanuel Cadieu of Ridgeland, SC. He was predeceased by his brother, Carlton Pittman and sisters Jessie Gray and Rebecca Pittman.A service will be held at 11 am, Saturday, June 2, 2012 with a visitation beginning at 10 am until the hour of the service at the family home.Memorial donations may be made to the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry, PO Box 23019, Hilton Head Island, SC 29925.
